Win a Trip to Paris!

For some reason lately I have  been majorly obsessed with going on holiday to Paris. I’ve been twice before, but about ten years have passed since my last trip (that was the trip when I was first introduced to Sephora). Learning that a visit to Coco Chanel’s apartment was within reach is what really sent me over the edge.

Unfortunately my camera was a piece’o'junk on my last trip, or otherwise I would jump on an opportunity that I received an email about this afternoon.

As you can see in this email, Air Tahiti Nui is running a contest to win a trip to Paris. To learn more and enter, CLICK HERE.

Winner: Signed Copy of “Summer at Tiffany” by Marjorie Hart

The lucky winner of the signed copy of Summer at Tiffany by Marjorie Hart is…

Michelle from The Red Velvet Shoe and Tales of a Vintage Wardrobe

CONGRATULATIONS!

°°°

If you would like to learn more about this lovely book (that will have you so excited if you love all things vintage and Tiffany & Co.), you can click here to read more.  I highly recommend that you make your way to the book store tout de suite (that means real quick :) ) and purchase a copy for yourself. The paperback version came out in April, so there should be plenty to go around.

Marjorie emailed me in the beginning of May and shared with me that the book had made the extended best seller list with the NY Times. How exciting!

Give-Away: The Carrie Diaries

Give-Away: The Carrie Diaries

As a farewell to Sex and the City week on MyLittleBoudoir.com, I thought it would be fun to do a give-away. If you remember back in my post titled  135 Days, I pre-ordered some copies of The Carrie Diaries. Naturally, I kept one for myself. I also gave one to my best friend as a gift when we went to see Sex and the City 2 on Friday. And the third copy is for a lucky My Little Boudoir reader.

"The Carrie Diaries" - Candace Bushnell

If you haven’t heard about The Carrie Diaries yet, in short it is the prequel to Sex and the City. It is written by Candace Bushnell, who was the same author of the book, Sex and the City, which later was turned into a television show and two movies. I am only five chapters into it, but I can’t wait for some alone time so I can read more…

Here is a write-up about the book from examiner.com prior to its release:

Did you ever wonder how Carrie Bradshaw got to be so fabulous? Well now you can find out who Carrie was before the Manolos, in Candace Bushnell’s latest books, The Carrie Diaries, set to be released April 27, 2010, just one month before the new SATC movie hits theaters.

The first in a two book series, The Carrie Diaries will chronicle Carrie Bradshaw’s teen years, following her as she develops her fashion sense, creating trends only Carrie could make popular. The book will also go along for the ride of Carrie’s first love, which is sure to explain how Ms. Bradshaw got her start in writing about her crazy relationships.

The most exciting thing will be who are Carrie’s friends? Teenage Carrie means pre-Miranda, Samantha, and Charlotte, so will the new friends be mini-clones of the fab four? You’ll just have to wait and see, as details on this book are slow coming. But for those who have a hard time waiting, here is the cover art for the new book.

The CW channel should be all over this book, as a television series is a must. An ’80’s flashback to the making of Carrie Bradshaw would no doubt be a huge hit.

Give-Away: Signed Copy of “Summer at Tiffany” By Marjorie Hart

Yes, if you’re shrieking over the title of this post, go ahead and shriek again because it’s true. I really do have a copy of the newly released paperback version of one of my very favorite books, Summer at Tiffany, signed by the author, the lovely Marjorie Hart to give away to one lucky follower of My Little Boudoir.

In case you missed it, I did a post back on January 10th about Summer at Tiffany. It is such a charming book. It’s difficult to find the hardback version in book stores, but the paperback version was just released at the beginning of April. That means, for any of you who haven’t read it  yet, you can race out to your favorite book store or online retailer (of books) and purchase a copy tout de sweet (or “toot sweet” if you prefer).

(bn.com)

I must admit, I had to purchase a paperback copy for myself even though I already have the hardback, because there are some not-to-be-missed extras inside. For starters, there is a new cover. But, inside is where the treasures can be found. In the back of the book, Marjorie gives “The Story Behind the Book”, there is  a Q&A with Marjorie, as well as some short stories about her years in the Kappa house and about her New Year’s at Tiffany & Co. These are truly some fabulous extras!

Back in February My Little Boudoir experienced one of its first watershed events. The event…a message from Marjorie Hart. Can you believe it? Marjorie found the post on My Little Boudoir about Summer at Tiffany and thanked me for the exposure. I was absolutely thrilled! I thanked her very much for reaching out to me and for the kind words. As it turns out, she was also kind enough to sign a copy of the paperback for a very lucky follower of My Little Boudoir. Inside the book, she wrote, “Treasure Your Memories – Marjorie Hart”. Of course, I had my hardback copy signed too (for myself, naturally), which is proudly on display in my boudoir.

Here is how you can enter to win an original paperback copy of Summer at Tiffany, signed by the author, Marjorie Hart.

1. You are eligible for one entry if you follow My Little Boudoir via one of the following methods:

-”Like” (formerly known as “becoming a fan” of) My Little Boudoir on Facebook

-Become a Follower of My Little Boudoir on Twitter

-Become a Google Friend of My Little Boudoir

If you are already one of these three, simply email me with the name you go by on Facebook, Twitter or Google Friends and I will add your entry.

2. A second entry can be received by commenting on this post (see How to Leave a Comment, if you’re unsure how to do this).

3. Receive a third entry if you are a blogger yourself and you add a post to your blog about this give-away (please email me, with a link, letting me know).

All entries must be received by May 14, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific) to be eligible. Good Luck!!!

While you’re there you may notice that My Little Boudoir is her blog spotlight for the month of April…how boudwonderful (boudoir+wonderful)!

She will be receiving this darling package in the mail soon…

Give-Away: Turbie Twist

Give-Away: Turbie Twist

°°°

I love the look of a turban on a woman. I think it is a great way to show off a beautiful face. Plus, it can serve as a quick solution on a bad hair day.

Some are fancy…

°°°

°°°

(fashionindie.com)

Some are casual…

(smvblog.com)

(bobbypinblog.blogspot.com)

°°°

And some should only be worn in the boudoir…

°°°

°°°

While there are many variations of turbans for women, a boudoir turban is a fabulous item to own. I recently purchased one in “My Little Boudoir” blue. It’s called a Turbie Twist. It can be used on wet or dry hair. It is a great way to keep your hair out of the way while applying make-up, keep it dry while bathing, or keep wet (just washed) hair off the bed (I can’t stand wet hair on a pillow), all while providing a glamorous look.

(turbietwistllc.com)

Why not just use a towel, you ask? Let me tell you why. You see, the Turbie Twist is not heavy like a regular towel and doesn’t fall off every time you turn your  head. It is super absorbent, light-weight, made of 100% cotton (terry interior/velour exterior) and has an elastic loop in the back to keep it all in place.

(turbietwistllc.com)

Don’t worry, I wouldn’t keep such a fantastic item all to myself. I bought an extra one for a very special reader of MyLittleBoudoir.com. I will select the winner of the turquoise Turbie Twist on Saturday March 13, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific) using random.org.

Here is how you enter to win:

Become a Fan of My Little Boudoir on Facebook
(if you’re already a Fan of MLB on Facebook, just give me a reminder in your comment)

AND

Leave a comment on this post stating your boudoir essential that you can’t live without
(if you forgot how to leave a comment, click here)

Remember, you must do both for one entry.
