    Holly Golightly Fashion

Who doesn’t love Audrey Hepburn’s look when she played Holly Golightly in the movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s? Breakfast at Tiffany’s is one of my favorite movies to watch in my boudoir. It’s one of those movies you can watch time and time again…it’s light, fun and infused with tons of inspiration from both a home decor and fashion perspective (if you haven’t seen my Breakfast at Tiffany’s Inspired Boudoir post, you can check it out here). Her elegant black gown, effortless updo, jewels and sunglasses have glamour written all over them. Today I’m going to piece together a look inspired by Holly Golightly herself. How to dress like Audrey Hepburn…

    Breakfast at Tiffany’s Birthday

“Of course, personally, I think it’d be tacky to wear diamonds before I’m forty.” – Holly Golightly, Breakfast at Tiffany’s It’s time to pull out the diamonds, ladies, because this January I celebrated my 40th birthday. To be honest…it’s surreal. I really don’t feel like it’s possible I could be 40. I identify with being younger, but I guess I’m officially a grown up now. My mother planned a surprise dinner at a local restaurant the weekend of my birthday. Several friends and family members joined in on the celebration. It was a lovely surprise, but I still wanted to have a little celebration with my lifelong girl friends, so…

    Breakfast at Tiffany’s Inspired Decor

Judging by the fact that the Tiffany & Co. Inspired Boudoir post was the most viewed post on My Little Boudoir in all of 2010, I thought you ladies might enjoy a Breakfast at Tiffany’s Inspired post. This time though, I am including decor beyond the boudoir. We all know that the main attraction of Holly Golightly’s apartment was the claw foot bathtub sofa in her living room. Here is Holly on her tub sofa, complete with brass telephone faucet and all. Through a company called Reestore, you too, can lean back and take a nice long bath rest in your living room. Don’t worry that the colors aren’t exact.…

Thinking Outside the Boudoir: Breakfast at Tiffany’s

If you haven’t already noticed, the theme at My Little Boudoir recently is Tiffany & Co. So, what would be more appropriate than to feature Holly Golightly’s apartment in Breakfast at Tiffany’s for the monthly series called Thinking Outside the Boudoir. This is where I share my fascination of homes from the movies. While some may not be practical for everyday life, or represent my overall ideal decor, I would love to spend some time in them, even just for a night. In some it is the decor that I fancy. In others it’s the architecture or floor plan. And in some I think it’s my fondness for the characters.…

    Tiffany & Co. Inspired Boudoir

In my current boudoir, which I share with my husband, I often daydream about what my very own little boudoir would be decorated like. What if you had a boudoir that was inspired by something you adore? Since the topic of my recent posts have been Tiffany & Co., let’s take a look at how to create a Tiffany & Co. inspired boudoir. 1. FURNITURE Tiffany blue (or white to contrast, if you’re using a Tiffany blue wall color) headboard, trimmed in faux diamond upholstery tacks by Diamond Head. I L.O.V.E. IT!! As you can see, it is inspired by the famous “Tiffany blue”, the white ribbon and, of course,…

    Mademoiselle Monday: Mlle Hepburn

“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.” – Audrey Hepburn “I was born with an enormous need for affection, and a terrible need to give it.” – Audrey Hepburn “There are certain shades of limelight that can wreck a girl’s complexion.” – Audrey Hepburn “Your heart just breaks, that’s all. But you can’t judge, or point fingers. You just have to be lucky enough to find someone who appreciates you.” – Audrey Hepburn 3

    Discount Shopping

I know, some people would rather not spend the time picking over a discount store’s merchandise where they only have a few of each item, however, I highly encourage it. You can find great items that would otherwise be sold at some of the top department and specialty stores, but at a much lower price. My husband and I recently took a trip to T.J. Maxx to look for desk organizers and decor for my daughter’s birthday present. We snapped some photos of some of the lovely items they had that I though you might enjoy for your boudoir, office, dining room, patio, etc. As I headed for the aisle…
