Living Like Barbie

One of my favorite toys as a child was my Barbie dolls. I played with them until the sixth grade (this is when most girls had already stopped, but it was a secret that my best friend and I shared). My adoration of Barbie did not end there though. I have relived another generation with her through my daughter (who unfortunately doesn’t love her as much as I).

As an adult I still enjoy Barbie from time to time. As you may have noticed in my previous post (Year of the Barbie), it is Barbie who is the subject of my 2010 calendar, both in my boudoir and at the office.

While my home (nor my husband) doesn’t allow for this this type of decor, if I were single or had a giant boudoir, I might really consider it….a sofa just like Barbie!

This chic Barbie doll sofa by Jonathan Adler,  is available for purchase on the Barbie Collector website. It is complete with two pillows and a throw blanket. Isn’t it darling? I would have been in heaven if I had this at age 8 in my three story “Barbie Town House”.

As an adult I would still find it heavenly to own this sofa, but for my house instead. If you are lucky enough to have a boudoir that could accommodate a sofa -or- can get away with bright pink in the living room, you can have this look, just like Barbie!

Now if you loved that…you’re sure to love what’s next. A tour of Barbie’s life size Malibu Dream House by Jonathan Adler. You’re going to melt when you see her boudoir! Don’t forget to pause the My Little Boudoir Soundtrack first though (it’s in the right column)
