Over the past year of captivity, online shopping and curbside pick-up have become the new “going out”.
I’ve been shopping online like a maniac. In part, because I don’t go to stores (I have essentials delivered), but also because I find it a satisfying activity during my life on the inside.
The question is, what will I do with the new clothes, make-up, etc. when I have no social life? Well, I suppose I could wear it to my “essential” job that requires me to be in the office, but I sit at my desk (distanced from others), and people mostly only see my surgically masked face and the top half of my shirt. So, a nice top and good eye make-up is in order. I would say hair, too, except my headset (that makes me look like a pilot) interferes with that.
I’ll tell you my big plans for all of the clothes and such that I am buying now. It’s for the BIG life I intend to live post-pandemic. I want to do get made up and dressed to the nines and go on fancy outings. I want to live like I’ve never lived before. Spectacular vacations, restaurants with food and atmosphere that is equally opulent, entertain like I am a socialite of the 1950’s and surround myself with company that renews the soul.
