Traveling Boudoir
Don’t you just hate it when you’re in a hotel room that doesn’t have a proper area for applying your make-up? I prefer to apply my make-up sitting down, at a bedroom vanity. It’s so nice when a hotel room is well appointed with a dressing table, though they are quite rare. Well, no need to worry, because now you can take your vanity along with you. When I opened my December issue of Elle magazine, I saw this divine little treasure… This trunk-vanity, called the 211 Trunk, can be purchased from The Conran Shop for $4,800. Not only can you take it with you, but it would be so…
Mademoiselle Monday: Mlle Loren
“A woman’s dress should be like a barbed-wire fence: serving its purpose without obstructing the view.” -Sophia Loren “It’s a mistake to think that once you’re done with school you need never learn anything new.” -Sophia Loren “I’ve never tried to block out the memories of the past, even though some are painful. I don’t understand people who hide from their past. Everything you live through helps to make you the person you are now.” -Sophia Loren “Beauty is how you feel inside, and it reflects in your eyes. It is not something physical.” -Sophia Loren “Getting ahead in a difficult profession requires avid faith in yourself. That is why…
House of Harlow 1960
The other morning, whilst in my hotel room, I was watching Good Morning America. The guest was Nicole Ritchie, who was on to talk about her new novel, Priceless. During the interview though, something was brought up that I found even more interesting. She has her own clothing line and jewelry line, which I was unaware of. Now had this been the pink dreadlock wearing Nicole Ritchie, I probably wouldn’t have thought much of it, but now that she has matured, I love her style, so I was very interested to see what it was all about. The clothing line, called Winter Kate, appears to currently consist mostly of jackets, shoes and…
Mademoiselle Monday: Mlle Mansfield
“A 41-inch bust and a lot of perseverance will get you more than a cup of coffee – a lot more.” -Jayne Mansfield “Most girls don’t know what to do with what they’ve got.” -Jayne Mansfield “I like being a pin-up girl. There’s nothing wrong with it.” -Jayne Mansfield “Carrying a baby is the most rewarding experience a woman can enjoy.” -Jayne Mansfield 1
Jean-Paul Gaultier for Roche Bobois
The man famous for his “boudoir” designs being worn outside of the boudoir (including Madonna’s iconic 1990’s cone bra look), has now designed a line that is truly meant for the boudoir (and perhaps the rest of your home as well). Jean-Paul Gaultier has designed a home decor line for Roche Bobois. You will notice that some pieces, like the blush bedding and corset-inspired pillows, take on a more feminine look, while other pieces like the tattoo-esque armoire and luggage-inspired chests take on a more edgier street vibe. The combination of these two looks reflect Gaultier’s signature aesthetic. For more information about this line and store locations, please visit Roche-Bobois.com.…
Amazing Grace…How Sweet the Smell…
One scent that I am addicted to is Amazing Grace by Philosophy. To be very honest, this is probably not a fragrance that I would have normally selected, but on a trip through the gauntlet (aka the cosmetics department at Nordstrom), I was approached by a sales person ready to provide me with a squirt of Amazing Grace lotion. I accepted, and went on about my business. On my journey through the mall that day, I began to love the fragrance more and more. On my way back through Nordstrom I had to pick up a bottle of the lotion. This past Christmas, my husband bought me the gift set.…

The Danger of a Single Story
Much of the content that you see on My Little Boudoir is delightful on the eyes and may be inspirational aesthetically, but it is not always truly thought provoking (nor is it always intended to be). However, no woman who sits primping in her boudoir all day and fussing about her appearance is truly beautiful without having a some intelligence and substance to go along with it. That is why I have spent much time throughout life reading and studying different topics in my boudoir. Today, I would like to share with you a thought provoking speech called, The Danger of a Single Story, by Chimamanda Adichie. Before you press…
Sunday’s Best: Frou Frou Fashionista
Since My Little Boudoir began in January 2010, women from 117 countries have visited. Clearly, many are unable to understand what I write about, but instead keep coming back to enjoy the many images on display. The photos that I am going to to share with you in today’s post need little explanation because they speak the international language of “Boudoir”. I would like to introduce Frou Frou Fashionista. Frou Frou Fashionista is a blog that is run by the owners of Faire Frou Frou, a luxury lingerie shop in Studio City, California. Don’t fret, if you’re not in the area they also have an online boutique. You’ll find that…
