As part of my pandemic shopping, I wanted to get some new artwork. One of my orders was a purchase that I made on Etsy from an artist that I’ve followed for a while now. I’ve you’re not already in the know, please allow me to introduce you to Janet Hill. I want to live in her paintings! They depict a mix of style and beauty reminiscent of a Slim Aarons photo shoot. A couple of years ago, my daughter and I went to Michael’s to pick up a marquee letter for my baby boy’s nursery. While I was there (as usual) I could not pass up a browse at the dollar bins. I was so happy when I saw a darling collection that was screaming “Boudoir.” There were note cards, pencils and more, adorned with lipstick, perfume, powder puffs and all kinds of girly stuff! Celebrity Boudoir: Jayne Mansfield
The boudoir and en suite bathroom of the voluptuous bombshell actress, Jayne Mansfield, has become iconic. It is best known for the heart-shaped gold lined bathtub with pink carpeted…um…well…EVERYTHING! The feminine theme of her home simply screams boudoir. Of her estate, one could say that the heart served as the crest (CHALLENGE: How many hearts can you find?). It was a respite oasis and a palace of sorts that provided a dreamy backdrop for her her life. There are many things about this home that I love (and some that I would pass on…i.e. carpeted walls).
