    Timree Discovery

A couple of years ago, my daughter and I went to Michael’s to pick up a marquee letter for my baby boy’s nursery. While I was there (as usual) I could not pass up a browse at the dollar bins. I was so happy when I saw a darling collection that was screaming “Boudoir.” There were note cards, pencils and more, adorned with lipstick, perfume, powder puffs and all kinds of girly stuff! So, you know I had to pick up some for me, and for one of you (see details below). The most ironic part of this story happened a few days later during a meeting with one of…

    A Fieldtrip to Caron

I’m embarrassed to admit that three quarters of the year have passed since I originally promised this post. On a business trip to New York back in September, I extended one extra day over the weekend to do some shopping, eating, sightseeing and visiting with family. Yes, I know, ambitious plans for having only one extra day. Needless to say, I had to let go of some of my plans. One that I was not prepared to give up though, was my trip to the Caron boutique. I had seen a few posts on other blogs that I follow about this fabulous perfume house called Caron. When I saw the…

Box of Guerlain Fragrance for the Boudoir

While searching BergdorfGoodman.com tonight, looking for this (which we’ll talk about on another occasion): I came across this: This beauty is called The 180 year Collectors Case, by Guerlain. This ultra deluxe black leather box with a gold lock and key is filled with 180 years of Guerlain fragrance, from Eau de Cologne Imperiale (created in 1853 for Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III) to Cruel Gardenia (created in 2008). Each of the 18 iconic one ounce bottles feature an Art-Deco inspired label. With three graduated rows, it is designed perfectly for display when the box is open. This “vision of elegance” (as Bergdorf’s refers to it), is a true…

    Amazing Grace…How Sweet the Smell…

One scent that I am addicted to is Amazing Grace by Philosophy. To be very honest, this is probably not a fragrance that I would have normally selected, but on a trip through the gauntlet (aka the cosmetics department at Nordstrom), I was approached by a sales person ready to provide me with a squirt of Amazing Grace lotion. I accepted, and went on about my business. On my journey through the mall that day, I began to love the fragrance more and more. On my way back through Nordstrom I had to pick up a bottle of the lotion. This past Christmas, my husband bought me the gift set.…

Upcycling: Chanel Perfume Bottle to Oil Candle

This is a do-it-yourself (diy) project that I thought of a few years back. I had some empty Chanel perfume bottles that I could not bear to throw away (or recycle), so I decided to upcycle them instead and display them in my boudoir. While I would find it perfectly suitable to simply display the empty bottles in ones boudoir, turning them into candles is even more “boudwonderful”!   To make the Chanel perfume bottle candle here are the steps to follow: 1.    Wash out empty perfume bottles taking care not to get the labels wet (you may want to tape some plastic over the label to ensure it…
