    Boudoir Bar Cart – Styling

In my ongoing quest to bring back (the good parts) of the 1950’s and 1960’s, I am in the process of creating a nicely stocked and well styled bar cart. I’ve been collecting pieces for years, and gathering inspiration from Pinterest. You can view my full Bar Cart board on Pinterest. I yearn for that bygone era where grown folks got dressed up in their finest and gathered at cocktail parties. I bought this versatile cart from the Container Store. It’s part of the line from The Home Edit (if you aren’t hip, you must check them out…their Insta stories are not to be missed @TheHomeEdit). I’ve used it for…

    Vintage Baby Shower

Let me begin by saying that having my son and going through a relatively healthy pregnancy is one of the best blessings ever bestowed upon me and I am forever grateful. With that said, I have two disappointments that occurred during my pregnancy (if we’re not counting that my ankles were practically the size of my thighs): 1. I didn’t have professional maternity photos taken. 2. My baby shower photos turned out blurry, due to a bad camera. Despite it, my baby shower was great; I just wish I had more detailed (and clear) photos to remember it by. I waited a long time to get pregnant (went through fertility…

    Breakfast at Tiffany’s Birthday

“Of course, personally, I think it’d be tacky to wear diamonds before I’m forty.” – Holly Golightly, Breakfast at Tiffany’s It’s time to pull out the diamonds, ladies, because this January I celebrated my 40th birthday. To be honest…it’s surreal. I really don’t feel like it’s possible I could be 40. I identify with being younger, but I guess I’m officially a grown up now. My mother planned a surprise dinner at a local restaurant the weekend of my birthday. Several friends and family members joined in on the celebration. It was a lovely surprise, but I still wanted to have a little celebration with my lifelong girl friends, so…

    Vintage Baby Shower

My sister-in-law is preparing to have a baby boy soon. In celebration of her upcoming arrival, my mum and I gave her a baby shower a couple of weeks ago. As the process of party planning now begins around the world, I went to Pinterest for ideas. I pinned some ideas to my Baby Shower pin board and asked her to take a look to see which theme she liked best. She seemed to be most fond of a vintage theme (yay!). And so it was…a vintage baby theme…and I knew just the place to go for decorations. One of my co-workers is an owner of Vibe Vintage Rentals. It…

    Baking…in Charlotte York Goldenblatt Style

I’m sure during the next couple of months, the fashion magazines, tabloids and blogs will all be buzzing about where to find the fashions of SATC2. I’m not sure that this exactly qualifies as “fashion”, but let’s get a head start, shall we? If you’re anything like Charlotte York, you probably enjoy baking (especially with your little girl) and there is no better way to look the part than to wear this delightful cupcake apron by Jessie Steele. After all, every lady must leave the boudoir and spend time in the kitchen occasionally, so why not look fashionable while you’re at it? This darling vintage inspired apron, like the one…

Have your cake and eat it blue…

The “LBB”, little blue box, cousin to the “LBD”, little black dress (that was made so popular by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s), is recognized by women across the globe as the home of all things fine and sparkly. If a celebration calls for a little blue box, whether it’s a birthday, wedding, or the like, there is no reason not to take the celebration one step further and have your cake and eat it blue. Soldier of Love

If I were to create a soundtrack of the music that I enjoy in my little boudoir, Sade would most definitely be on the list. For Christmas, my husband pre-ordered me a copy of Sade’s new album, Soldier of Love, that is scheduled to drop on February 9, 2010. Her music is so relaxing and timeless. It will never get old to me. There are 10 tracks on the album. The first single released shares the name of the album title, Soldier of Love. Here is the video: Sade’s NEW video “Soldier Of Love” from her new, upcoming album of the same name!   1
