Online Pandemic Shopping
Over the past year of captivity, online shopping and curbside pick-up have become the new “going out”. I’ve been shopping online like a maniac. In part, because I don’t go to stores (I have essentials delivered), but also because I find it a satisfying activity during my life on the inside. The question is, what will I do with the new clothes, make-up, etc. when I have no social life? Well, I suppose I could wear it to my “essential” job that requires me to be in the office, but I sit at my desk (distanced from others), and people mostly only see my surgically masked face and the top…

My Instagram feed has been filled with Nordstrom Anniversary Sale recommendations from all of the fashion bloggers I follow. By this point, you’ll be lucky to find any availability on the hottest trends (unless you’re size 0-2). I’m here to show you a different side of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale…my favorite items for your boudoir! Leopard Print Wool Rug| Dash & Albert | $21-$696 Every time I see leopard rugs, it makes me think of Kimora’s super luxurious boudoir closet. Timree Discovery
A couple of years ago, my daughter and I went to Michael’s to pick up a marquee letter for my baby boy’s nursery. While I was there (as usual) I could not pass up a browse at the dollar bins. I was so happy when I saw a darling collection that was screaming “Boudoir.” There were note cards, pencils and more, adorned with lipstick, perfume, powder puffs and all kinds of girly stuff! So, you know I had to pick up some for me, and for one of you (see details below). The most ironic part of this story happened a few days later during a meeting with one of…
Cosmetic Vending Machine
I was traveling on business to Las Vegas earlier this week. Whilst walking through the airport in LV this vending machine caught my eye and stopped me right in my tracks. A vending machine that sells cosmetics!!! Plus, it’s super adorable looking like a little pink caravan. Benefit Cosmetics should be real proud…job well done! 0
A Cure for Cotton
In a quest to try to organize my boudoir (I say “quest” because I share the boudoir with my husband and my desk doubles as my vanity…ugh…this is why you’ve yet to see photos of the “boudoir”), I was in need of one place to store all of my cotton. Cotton balls, Q-tips and my Chanel Le Coton, that is. Previously, I had my Q-tips in this little pink glass votive holder (that I picked up at the dollar store or something). I had my cotton balls in this green faux alligator skin container. And, my Le Coton was in it’s original packaging. Then, one day on a shopping trip to…
Chanel Inspired Sofa
Look what I found, ladies…a Chanel inspired sofa! Wish this was around when I did the Chanel Inspired Boudoir post (although I guess this would be more appropriate for a living room). This beautiful sofa (reminiscent of the Chanel 2.55 handbag with quilted leather) is from The New Traditionalists. It also comes in other colors, like blue, red and linen, but black looks most like “classic” Chanel, so it’s my favorite. 0
Harlem Toile
I found out about Harlem Toile, by designer Sheila Bridges, in a magazine recently and immediately wanted to share it with you. Many people say that I have an old soul. I am very drawn to historic times, although all too often depictions of American History are very one-sided and leave out the important role of African American culture and accomplishments. Sheila Bridges explained on the Nate Berkus Show that she always loved toile, but never really found a print that spoke to who she was. So, she created the Harlem Toile de Jouy. The initial appearance is very traditional 17-century French Toile, but it was designed to showcase the life and culture of…
Lingerie Luggage
On a recent trip to Miami Beach I visited the Bal Harbour Shops. It was actually the first time I had stepped foot into an Agent Provocateur. Among all of the beautiful luxurious items fit for a boudoir, I spotted these fine pieces of luggage! Aren’t they divine? Dare I say, I fancy them more than LV. Although, I would have preferred a solid or leopard print lining. 0
Elizabeth Taylor Collection at Christie’s
As a child in the 1980’s, I can remember adults talking about Elizabeth Taylor in a somewhat negative light. At the time, I only knew her by her “White Diamonds” look. With big hair and looking like she stepped off the set of Dynasty. What I didn’t recognize at the time (which I’m ashamed of now), was how much of a talent and natural beauty she was. As a child, I had no idea about her history and the fact that she was Hollywood royalty. One thing I DID know though was that she was always dripping in fine jewels. As you know, the great Elizabeth Taylor passed away…
Lady Head Vase Obsession
A little over three years ago I learned of a lovely little item that is perfectly suited for a boudoir. The lady head vase. I was reading the spring 2008 issue of O at Home when I came upon an article showcasing the home of event planner, Mindy Weiss, who is best known for her luxurious celebrity weddings. Her entire home is fabulous (more on that another day), but I was most intrigued by her collection of lady head vases. They are vintage (mostly mid 20th century), glamorous and perfect for a boudoir. Need proof? Take a look at the dressing room/closet of her boudoir, where they are on display…
